That day we visited the area where I stayed when I came to Berlin for the first time. It has been my first and best impression and it still remains so.
This is the place that creates its history in the most natural and independent way. The part of the big city that was considered by the posh citizens somehow dangerous, dirty and not worth inhabiting has been taken by the most open-minded and therefore undemanding people. They managed to create here their own community and their own subculture which might seem savage and weird to some people who prefer expensive restaurants to pubs and cars to bicycles but that is exactly what makes Berlin what it is. It makes the city special among the rest of Europe.
If one day I will be lucky enough to live in Berlin I would definitely choose Kreuzberg.
